Exclusive Interview With Damola Magma

This version of the interview features the likes of the underdog up and coming artiste, Damola Magma. He's the new fire in Nigeria.The Arena finally have their chance to interview him

ARENA: First of all, i'll like to say its an honour to have an upcoming star here

MAGMA: The pleasure,i feel honoured to be here and it feels good.

ARENA: So Lets get down to busines.First Tell me how you came up with the name 'Damola Magma'?

MAGMA: Well,my first name is Damola and then the 'magma' was when i was in high school,i think jss3.I just gave myself that name,then people started calling me that and i guess it stuck around.

ARENA: Cool,so that means you've always wanted to be into music?

MAGMA: you can say it like that.

ARENA: When did you first know?

MAGMA: Mehnn,it goes way back to primary school oh,when i'll always be trying to rhyme but it became clear in junior school

ARENA: Youre a Rapper/Songwriter yeah?

MAGMA: Of course.

ARENA: Which is more prominent?

MAGMA: well,i have to say the song writing.

ARENA: How come?Most other artiste's wont go that way.

MAGMA: You see,music is art and you can show it in different ways.When i write a song,and when i feel it doesnt flow with me,i begin to imagine other musicians on the track and well,you know the rest

ARENA: So what hit songs have you written?

MAGMA: well i cant say,for the sake that i dont want to cast.But some hit songs that you've heard were written by me but you just dont know.

ARENA: What of your own songs?We havnt heard oh.

MAGMA: Well,i'm still looking for the right jam to come out with,school work has got me tied up,i have unofficial tracks waiting to drop.The Latest one is 'Jofunmi'.

ARENA: i'll like to hear that.

MAGMA: although i featured SBOSS & Jeff Holicks on the track.

ARENA: i hope say the thing make sense?

MAGMA: Ahahn,for sure na.

ARENA: So in the industry,who is your icon?

MAGMA: i'll have to say MI Abaga.

ARENA: why?

MAGMA: MI is an iconic rapper,his talent is just unique.i'Ve loved MI since crowd mentality till present.I hope to reach where he is someday

ARENA: So who else do you admire?

MAGMA: theyre a lot; Efa,Falz the bad guy,Meka,Lil Kesh,Ice Prince,Pryse,Big Sean and many more.

ARENA: baba na you oh.

MAGMA: hahaha meaning?

ARENA: I'm just hailing you oh.

MAGMA: hahaha you shaa.
